Our Investment Work: MobilityX catalyses collaborative capital into the mobility ecosystem. We are addressing the capital gap that mobility founders face as they try to grow from pre-seed to growth stage. We offer equity investments and/or asset financing from pre-seed to growth. Our hybrid financing approach creates cleaner cap tables while enabling asset acquisition, reducing risk for equity investors through asset separation, and providing specialised domain expertise in African mobility contexts.
We have 2 main investment activities based on the companies needs:
- we structure and manage asset financing models for heavy CAPEX business (electric 2&3 wheeler local OEMS focusing on asset utilisation) based on the unit economics of each asset type (vehicle, battery and charging unit): We use asset financing via a SPV to address the critical challenge where founders traditionally use dilutive equity to fund capital expenditures.
- we syndicate equity investments for pure software companies or where we have already deployed asset financing and equity funding is required to expand operations and scale growth.
